Finally I have walls!!!!...I had to go back to remind myself how far we've come

From this

To this

Perhaps the spring would have been a preferable time to do this kitchen

The hardest part and I'm sure everyone that has done a renovation will tell you is the bloody mess!! Patience's is key and finding a source of inspiration everyday (pinterest) makes it much more fun.
The design has changed at least 4 times.... so being flexible is also important.
If you're doing this D.I.Y style...make sure you fully trust the person who does this for a living...believe me sometimes you don't know what you're talking about.
Also if the person who does this for a living is your husband try and make this a fun experience... enjoy each others talents and creativity and their ability to lift heavy objects!

So my job today is to pick a wicked paint color for the kitchen, hallway and adjoining room...no pressure!! Here's a lady that inspires me check her out....www.abigailahern.org
Until tomorrow.

Last night @ 4am

Here's what I hate about compliments.....

At some point they stop coming.....usually after gaining 6 pounds or earning a few more wrinkles... nobody is telling you how "fit" you look how you don't look your age.

It just stops....so my point is if your never complimented me in the first place I wouldn't be wondering at 4 in the morning why I haven't heard "hey you look great" or "you're how old......no way"!!!!

I know how contrived that sounds, but aging is not for the weak.

I also realize having a job or purpose in life keeps you from over analyzing your superficial existence.

So in 2 weeks I'm back to work where I will be running around for 6 hours straight (goodbye 6 pounds) and I will be surrounded by "people" with significantly more wrinkles (nobody is under 60 in this town).

So I beg you do not compliment me unless you are willing to compliment me every time you see me until you die!!

Oh boy I feel a lesson coming my way.

Anyway tomorrow is DRYWALL day...finally walls to build a kitchen on...no we haven't given up yet

So tomorrow pictures...but for now a picture for my insecurity!

This picture is called acceptance...I'm not sure why that's just what the caption said
